Charbel Boueri, of Spring, faces charges of felony murder and two counts of intoxication assault in the Sunday crash that left 18-year-old Christopher Lujan dead and others injured.

Boueri had been driving a blue Chevrolet Camaro around 2:42 a.m. that day in the 20300 block of Champion Forest Drive when he didn’t stay in a single lane as he tried to turn to get on a North Grand Parkway West feeder road, losing control and hitting a concrete wall, authorities said.

Lujan died at the scene and the two female teenagers in the back were taken to Memorial Hermann The Woodlands in critical condition, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Boueri had suspected major injuries and was sent to HCA Houston Northwest Hospital, where authorities wrote in a release that the teenager “displayed several indicators of intoxication.”

In an update Tuesday, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Twitter that Boueri was still in the hospital in stable condition, and that the teenage girls were also stable and expected to survive.

In a release, the sheriff’s office said the girls and Lujan were not restrained in the vehicle. It’s unclear whether Boueri was wearing a seatbelt. Gonzalez has also previously said one of the girls had been ejected from the vehicle.

Boueri did not have an attorney listed in online court records as of Wednesday morning.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
