Louisiana attempted murder suspect arrested in Rancho Cordova – The Vacaville Reporter


A man with strong ties to Fairfield has been arrested in Rancho Cordova on an attempted murder warrant out of Louisiana and in connection with a local violation, Fairfield police announced this week.

Xavier Bernard Watson, 32, had been wanted by Eunice, La. police in connection with the May shooting of a 14-year-old, officials said. He was also wanted in Solano for Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) violations.

According to katc.com, the victim was allegedly confronted in the street and shot. Located sitting in a vehicle, the wounded teen was transported to a local hospital. At the time, he was reported as “doing good” and was expected to be released.

No other details were available.

On Aug. 31, Fairfield PD’s Special Operations Team tracked Watson to rural Rancho Cordova. With the assistance of Sacramento County SWAT, the suspect was arrested and booked into Sacramento County Jail, where he is being held without bail.

As of Monday, an arraignment had not been set.
