Moose Wala Murder Case: Moosewala murder case: Punjab Police arrest sixth shooter Deepak Mundi

In a major breakthrough in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, Punjab Police arrested Deepak alias Mundi, the absconding shooter, and two associates – Kapil Pandit and Rajinder from the West Bengal-Nepal border.

DGP Punjab Police told ANI, “Deepak, Kapil Pandit & Rajinder arrested today by AGTF team at the WB-Nepal border in the culmination of an intelligence-based operation. Deepak was the shooter in Bolero module, Kapil Pandit & Rajinder provided logistical support including weapons & hideouts.”

Earlier, the Delhi Police had arrested three shooters and Punjab Police had killed two others in an encounter.

Police had identified six shooters who formed two modules to eliminate the singer. Of these, Priyavrat Fauji, Kashish and Ankit Sersa were arrested by the special cell of the Delhi Police while Manpreet Singh and Jagrup Singh Roopa were killed by the Punjab Police.

The famous singer was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29. He was killed when he, along with his friend and cousin, was travelling in a jeep to Jawahar Ke village in Mansa. Six shooters waylaid and sprayed bullets on him.

Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed the responsibility for the killing.

The Punjab Police had filed a 1,850-page charge sheet against 24 accused in a Mansa court on August 26.

The charge sheet was filed under different IPC sections, including 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 341 (wrongful restraint), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), and relevant provisions of the Arms Act.

The police had lodged an FIR against 36 accused but it filed the charge sheet against 24, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, and Goldy Brar.
